By James “Skyy Dobro” Walker Ted “Big Boss Man” Cash is a versatile singer, entertainer, and writer who is fluent in many styles of music. He brings a rich, deep, and seasoned voice to his songs not unlike that of BB King. Born to musical parents in Minter City, Mississippi, and raised in Anderson, Indiana, Ted was traveling the country singing Gospel at the age of six. As a young man, Ted had the privilege to sing with such greats as Sam Cooke, Mahalia Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Billy Preston, and The Mighty Clouds of Joy for whom his father sang bass and played guitar. Following seven years in the Marines, Ted sang jazz in Hawaii, was a staff writer for albums by Bobby Womack, recorded a successful single “You Are So Wonderful,” lived and performed in Oklahoma and Nashville, and in 1998, located in Las Vegas where he performs and records. Consisting of 14 cover songs arranged by Ted Cash, Big Boss Man is a tribute to the great blues performers and writers. The CD won Album of the Year for the Nashville Music Awards and still gets airplay.
